A Flex-y Sort of Post – Talking about the Ford Flex!

fordflex1After three big posts at 5 Minutes for Mom, you’d think I’d be all talked out when it comes to the Ford Flex. Not so!

I saw a beautiful white Flex today and it reminded me that I had yet to share my experience with my own readers. As I watched three women pile groceries into this shiny white crossover, I thought back to how ‘Chele and I had gone shopping and filled our carts to the brims with groceries. And, when we got out to the Flex we were shocked at how little space they seemed to take up.

The exterior design was so unique! Finding the Flex in a parking lot full of cars was simple. :-) I originally thought the car looked a little boxy, but when I saw it in real life I decided it was really quite sleek. I loved all the shiny chrome accents and I even liked the two-tone paint job, tho personally, I would have chosen a different color.

I think what I liked best about the Flex was how roomy it was. Our Durango looks like a much larger vehicle, yet when you get into the back seat your legs feel really cramped, and if you’re tall, your head is awfully close to the ceiling. The Flex rides lower allowing for more head space, and it’s laid out in such a way that the center row seats have as much leg room as the front seats. Even the third row seats had at least as much space as our Durango offers in the second row. The bucket seats in the center row were divided by a console. This gave the car an airy feel, and kept the back row from feeling cut off from the conversations going on up front.

Ford has come a long way since my parents owned a 1992 Ford Explorer!!! Besides was riding around in my husbands old pick-up from time to time, the Explorer was my only real previous experience with a Ford. I had never been impressed, but that also meant I’d never really paid much attention to where Ford Motors was going. After driving the Flex I knew Ford was a company I’d consider in the future. The innovative design, the technology incorporated, and the quality of the Flex impressed me.

And now that the government partially owns the other major motor companies, I’m even more impressed with Ford. Their stand to refuse the bailouts and government involvement have sealed the deal.

If I ever buy new, I’m going with Ford.
