We’ve recently redecorated Lil Man’s room from frogs and other babyish boy stuff to Disney’s Cars theme. Lil Man feels like such a big boy now, even tho the crib is still standing in one corner of his room. (We’ll get that out soon, I hope!)
To get how excited Lil Man is about this new toy box/organizer system you must understand his love for all things CARS!!! He asks to watch the movie every day. He knows most of it by heart and he re-enacts it with his toy Lightening McQueen and Mater, as well as his toy tractors and Hot Wheels.
When I told him the big box UPS had just delivered was for him, and that there was Cars stuff inside, he went nuts with excitement, shouting CARS!!! and jumping all over the house. I wish I’d caught that on video…
Overall, I’m pleased with the set. It’s just Lil Man’s height so he can reach things on the top shelf. The bins are great for organizing the smaller items and they allow for easy access. I like the roll out toy box because he finally has a space for balls and big trucks, but it’s too hard for him to pull out. Between the weight and the carpet (and we have a low pile berber) he just can’t get it out on his own. I’m sure that will come soon enough though, and I’ll be tripping on toys and wondering why I ever complained that he couldn’t open that on his own.
The only other thing I disliked was that all the stickers seemed very low quality, thin and easly marred. Same goes for the bright colored paper-coating on the unit itself. I scratched the color off in a few places just getting it all unpacked and put together.
The unit was packaged very well and all the pieces were labeled for easy assembly. Puting the set together was very easy. It took time, but the picture instructions were very easy to follow and I was able to assemble the unit all by myself with nothing more than a screwdriver.
We’re so excited to finally have a 3-in-one organizer for Lil Man’s things. He’s quite an organized child (his dad and mom both are both borderline perfectionists…) and he likes having a place for everything.
