Guest Post by Alia Haley

Creativity takes many forms. Writing is probably one of the most essential creative forms that take on major importance in a variety of different aspects of life. There are no subjects or topics that do not use the power of the written word to communicate their basic ideas. Blogging is one such means of communicating different ideas and subjects. Quality write-ups have a major responsibility towards the eminent success of the blog. In fact, even marketing and strategic for the blog requires you to come up with attractive written copy for advertisements, comments, and reviews.

While blogging, you also need to invest your time and effort towards the relevant research for your articles and posts. Fortunately, advancement of technology has afforded us the convenience of a wide variety of resources literally at our fingertips. There are a lot of powerful writing tool options available for bloggers. The only concern is the effectiveness of the option for the blogger. Here is a comprehensive look at the available options and their advantages.

Desktop: This is probably the most advanced and popular choice for bloggers all over the world. Desktops are handy and they can take the pressure of a lengthy period of research, writing and designing. Most bloggers relate their desktop environment to conversion of ideas in to complete posts. Your desktop and chair, literally becomes your haven. The fact, that a fully loaded desktop is a priceless tool for a blogger, cannot be refuted.

Laptops: Desktops do not allow for mobility. This is the biggest disadvantage of the desktops against the laptops. Laptops can be just as powerful as a desktop. In addition to this, laptops can be carried to any destination. There are no restrictions and sometimes creative people need to change their work environment to make sure that their inspiration is not curbed by boredom or tedium.

Smartphone: Smartphone’s have arrived in the market with a bang and they are already creating a popular niche for themselves. There are many interesting and quite effective mobile apps available for writers and bloggers. These apps are conditioned to ease your workload as well as help with the formatting and proofreading parts of your writing process. You can even directly publish your edited posts from your Smartphone. Many apps also provide the advantages of multi-lingual translations. There are bloggers who have the tendency of doodling and scribbling short notes anytime when inspiration strikes. These notes can be very important for post ideas or tips. Smartphone are ideal for this task. However, there is a disadvantage of using Smartphone which the bloggers face. The small, high rise buttons of the phone make it a little difficult for prolonged typing.

Pen and Paper: This is the ultimate combination that started the journey of writing. Writers all over the world first get introduced to the art with the pen and paper. It is not surprising that most of them still turn to these aids even when they are closely dependent on cutting edge technology. Bloggers have to be acquainted with the nuances of the computer and the internet. Yet, they are prone to carry a small notepad and pen with them to collect their thoughts and ideas for inspiration. Many writers also maintain regular diaries to assess their development as a writer and to keep a tab on their research. Unlike the other electronic gadgets, the traditional pen and paper are free from viruses and loss of electricity or other defects. However, as mentioned earlier, bloggers cannot afford to completely deny technology because they ultimately need a computer to publish their blogs and the Internet to communicate these ideas to their readers.

Conclusion: Each of these options has their merits and demerits. The ideal choice completely depends on the blogger as to which option best suits his/her needs.
