Yes, it’s a game show for bloggers! The founders of the Beyond Blogging Project are opening their doors for another round of their amazing training and to kick it all off, they’re holding a week long game show for bloggers!
Last night I was a guest celebrity on the show. The question asked of me was:
Which has a higher success rate for Amazon affiliate products: Text Links or Banners?
My answer?
Personally, I think banners do, but you must understand my definition of Amazon Affiliate Banners is NOT banner ads in your sidebar or at the bottom of posts. Most of the time it’s not even the pre-defined banners Amazon provides code for. No, I tend to make my own, using an image of the product, and the affiliate url. I probably should have made this clearer in my answer, cause the celebrity judge, Lara Kulpa (community manager of ProBlogger.com), shot me down. haha She, and others, insisted Text Links are more efficient. And, I get that. A review type post with some text links is sure to be a higher success than a banner in your sidebar. Guess it just depends on your definition of ‘banner.’ 
Anyway, I say that to let you know, there’s some learning going on in this game! We’re talking about blogging issues, terms, and questions. And, they’re being discussed in a fun way that’ll have you laughing your socks off.
I didn’t get to hang out in the green room/afterparty very long last night, but what I heard was hilarious. I snuck back in for a few minutes later on and heard some good questions being answered. Gotta get myself back in there again this week!!

It was a very fun time indeed and I would be more than happy to participate in the show should they ever do another one in the future.
I hate that I missed the show. My niece's birthday party was that night and then I left town the next day. Was it recorded? I always heard text links had the higher rate as well but then again I don't know that they ever took in consideration of someone who personally made their own banners. Glad you learned some new tips and can't wait to hear about them!
