I’m not much of a news girl. In fact, I rarely even pay attention. But, when a fellow blogger’s home was flooded this week I noticed. Why? Cause in just two days over 85 bloggers, brands, and friends have banded together to raise over $3,700 for Melissa’s family. I’m part of a collection of bloggers and brands and there are tons of ideas, donations, and goods being sent to help this family recover.
If you haven’t yet, head over to MommyBrainReports and read the story of ConsumerQueen’s family and how their home was flooded with 2′ of water in the Edmond, OK floods. See pictures of red-brown water up to the windows, firemen wading in to rescue her children, and read the story of her husband saving a girl just in time as water overflowed her car.
Several big companies have said they’ll help replace things like beds and electronics, so look for some special features here in the next few weeks as I cover the technical/electronics companies and their charitable donations.
I encourage everyone who reads this to skip their daily coffee run and help this family out. Every dollar counts!
