In the past weeks I have had the privilege of working with a fabulous group of women as we’ve readied to launch BlissReads, the genius Content Curation network founded by Allison Worthington.
What is Content Curation?
I’m glad you asked! Content Curating means finding, filtering, and sharing the best content. Period. Many of us do this in some form or other, usually by Twitter, when we share something fabulous we’ve found. BlissReads takes this to the next level by carefully selecting its curators, having several per channel, and asking those curators to add their own commentary to the things they curate. Far from blog scraping, Curating takes a couple sentences to a paragraph of the content and shares it along with a link to the original content and a couple lines of the curator’s own thoughts.
What Does BlissReads Cover?
Everything! Well, just about. You see, with 27 sites launching this week, and several more to come (hopefully a few per month) BlissReads aims to have a channel for everyone. Like Home Decor? Subscribe to the feed at BlissReadsDecorating.com and the channel’s curators (who love the topic themselves!) will bring you the best of the best.
Where Do I Come In?
Graphics, baby. All twenty-eight headers were products of my best friend and favorite graphics software, Fireworks. That plus coffee, plus a couple late nights and lots of great feedback from the team and you have 28 headers plus some fun buttons and banners for sharing! Oh yes, and curating. I’ve been finding, filtering, and sharing… the human way. After all, people are much better filters than search engines!
What Does This Mean for You?
I’m out there, reading your sites which means your content is going into my filter and being shared! Some of you may have already received trackbacks/pingbacks on some of your fabulous content! If you haven’t yet, or you have something ultra fabulous that you’re super proud of be sure and let me know! Below you’ll see a list of sites I curate to. While I can’t promise to curate your every article I do want to help promote the lesser-known bloggers by sharing their best content.
