Adding the Facebook Like Button to Your WordPress Blog

Ok, I have just been through all the directions to manually add the Facebook Like button to my posts. Ick! That’s a lot of work! I was a little stuck, but planned to blog the directions in an easy to understand way soon as I figured it out… Then, I heard there was a plugin. Turns out, lots of plugins.

The first one I tried only put the button at the bottom of the post, and I could hardly find it myself, so I tried another one which seemed to be popular. And, it was soooo easy to set up!!

Just install and activate, then look under Tools/Facebook Like Button for the settings!

I followed a thread on the Thesis support forum which showed you how to add a couple of lines of code to the simple menu and the button appeared at the top of all posts. Then I discovered the plugin! Staying with the original code for the time being to see how in pans out.

I downloaded and activated the plugin but it's not showing up in my posts… I can't figure out what went wrong… help!

Craziness, wasn't it? Even some of the plugins required a lot of work, setting up a Facebook app, etc. I was appalled. Especially when I saw this plugin and how easy it is.

Yea, let me know how that works. I often wonder if the hard coded things make for quicker load time than all these plugins we add… Maybe I just got a bad set of directions, I don't know, but I could not get the manual setup to work.

Mine didn't show up either will I want to Tools/Facebook Like in my dashboard and updated the settings.

I downloaded and installed this last week and could not find it on the plugins page. I logged out of admin, logged back in and there it was.

How strange! No disappearing act here. I just had to look twice to find the settings under Tools instead of Settings where most plugins reside.
