On My Way to BlissDom

At the time of this posting, I’m making the journey from north Texas to Nashville, Tennessee. Driving that is. Or, maybe riding, depending on who got first dibs driving the all new Chevy Equinox the GM folks kindly lent to us…

BlissDom; the second largest annual women’s blogging conference. Held in Music City, at the Gaylord Hotel, this event draws over 500 women bloggers together for 3 or 4 days packed with educational sessions, networking, and fun!

Getting there has been fun thus far… My winning design for a Twitter background design contest got the the ticket, and several fun client projects helped me pay for the travel and lodging expenses. The last two were made easier by the fact that I’ll be carpooling with two other women and rooming with one of them! My buddies for the drive are Dwan of MommaDJane.com and Lizzy of LizzyDearsLife.net.  Dwan and I will be rooming together and I know we’re going to have a blast! She’s one of two bloggers I’ve actually met before, in real life!

Oh yea the car? Dwan got that. She’s got some super-duper connection with someone at GM and she told them we’d all blog, tweet, and talk about the car if they’d let us drive it to BlissDom. GM being the smart company they are, said yes. And so, we’ll be test driving the all new Equinox SUV. It’s great to see large companies seeing the value in word of mouth and social media advertising. Personally, I’m a Ford fan, and I really don’t think my mind can be changed, but who knows?? Look for our tweets with the #ChevyBliss and #blissdom hashtags to follow us on our roadtrip!

Ah yes, and if you see a #beyondblogging hashtag thrown in there, you’ll know it’s because I’m reading on the road! (not while I’m driving!)
