Burning a feed in Feedburner is easy. Sharing that RSS feed with the world is simple. Then why does the default layout for a Feedburner subscribe page have to be so cluttered and confusing? Recently, when subscribing to one of my favorite blogs I noticed this blogger was using Feedburner, but his signup page was clean, neat, and included his logo. I wanted that! So, I resolved to figure out how he’d done it and duplicate the results for myself.
If your Feedburner subscribe page looks like this:

Why not change it to look more like this:
While there is nothing wrong with the first example, it does look a bit cluttered and confusing. The second example is easier to navigate and allows the blogger to add his/her own logo for branding.
How to Reformat Your Feedburner Subscribe Page
- Login to Feedburner.
- Click the feed you wish to work on, and go to the Optimize tab.
- On the left, choose Browser Friendly. Then in Appearance Options, choose ClearFeed (English) and uncheck the box below the dropdown -Landing page renders as a web page in all browsers. This will fix the layout issues.
- Next, choose Feed Image Burner from the sidebar on the left. Under Image Source choose Custom URL and then insert your logo’s URL.
- Fill in your information, and click ‘save.’
- View your feed!
How do you feel about your Feedburner subscribe page? Are you using the default view, or have you simplified it and added your brand? How many of you will be adding this to your to-do list?

Nice post Erica.
I use feedburner in my emails and form post signatures. But this warrants a look into
That's brilliant! Thanks! Took me two minutes to do that. Great tip.
Awesome idea. I never really paid attention to this. Thanks for the tip.
Yea, it really takes a lot of the confusion and clutter out of the landing page for Feedburner. Hope you enjoy it!
Woot! Another convert…. haha I actually noticed this on ProBlogger's feed when I finally subscribed there. It was just so refreshing. Had to know how he did that.
Sure! And, thank you for stopping by! Always great to meet a new face and know when someone has been helped by something I've written.
Off to explore your site… seeing some beautiful Thesis customization and loving it already!
Short and incredibly sweet. Thank you!
I never knew you could do this on Feedburner. I have to say that I gave it up months ago because I was not finding it all that useful.
You're most welcome!
I went and looked at your site and it's so cute! Love the little graphics, and nice clean layout.
I love Feedburner, because no matter where I go, host or domain wise, I can update it and don't loose subscribers. I can also see the stats for my subscribers, who's read, how many, etc. It's a great tool!
I did not think of that issue of taking your subscribers with you should you change feeds. I will have to look and see if my current system allows this. Thanks for the info Erica.
Hey Erica,
This is a great tip. I think there is a lot more that can be learned about formatting an RSS feed. I did a Podcast about sending Tweets from your RSS, and as I was prepping for it I found all sorts of functions that I plan to play with. I even started putting AdSense on my feeds.
Thanks for the tip, I look forward to reading more of your posts.
@Ileane
Lots of options and things to play with, aren't there? Every time I'm in Feedburner I find a little something I hadn't seen before. I can easily get sidetracked exploring the options. haha
