There is no holiday I adore more than Thanksgiving. As a Christian I find Easter and Christmas very special, but I also feel disappointed in the commercialism we have gradually added to the holidays, slowly diluting their true meanings. I think this is one of the reasons I love Thanksgiving so much. Not only is it a true American holiday, it’s not cluttered by gifts, big parties or fancy clothes. While the food is a big deal, each family celebrates in their own way, adding traditions along the way to make it a truly unique celebration for every family.
We’re not huge sports fans, but I’m sure we’ll watch some football. And, we’ll play games, watch a movie, and EAT. We’ll eat all day. We’ll eat so much we won’t be hungry for a week.
But, above all, we’ll be thankful. Thankful for family to share life’s ups and downs with, friends who bring joy to our hearts, the health we have, the shelter and food we enjoy, and the freedom we have.
And, the technology that enables us to share these things with you and the rest of the world!
