Scrapblog, the Digital Scrapbook Creator

Capturing memories is important to every family. With the invention of digital cameras the task has become not only easier, but cheaper too. The problem many of us are left with is finding time to print these photos and arrange them in albums. And, for most of us, finding time to actually scrapbook is out of the question.

There are a lot of services now that will allow you to upload your photos and create photo books that you can have printed and mailed to you. Many of these are pricey and in order to share your creations, you have to pay to have them printed and mailed.

Until Scrapblog came along!!

With Scrapblog you can make a photo blog, which you can then turn into a photobook or calendar among other cool gift ideas. The great part? You can share these creations live, across a huge selection of social networking platforms, embed them in your blog, or send a friend an email with a link to view. You can make your creation public, or only allow those you’ve invited to view your finished project. Online sharing is free!

Create multimedia digital scrapbooks for free at Scrapblog. Print your creations into high quality keepsake books, soft cover books, greeting cards, and post cards.
Signing up is free. And, if you select the Quick Mix option you’ll get to try the service free, plus you’ll get 150 credits applied to your account so you can buy additional stickers, backgrounds, frames, and more.

You can upload pictures from your computer, or ask Scrapblog to pull them from a number of popular photo sharing and networking sites like flickr, facebook, etc

The credits used to purchase items are really reasonable. You buy them in blocks and they’re yours to use whenever you want. They won’t expire and they can be used on anything you want to decorate your pages.

Right now, Scrapblog is offering 15% off your purchase of printed photobooks! Just use the code BOOK15 at checkout!

Books and calendars can be ordered up until December 17th for guaranteed Christmas delivery!!

Now, I just have to show you a couple pages I made with the Quick Mix tool… These took just minutes to create and they’re entirely free. I made them for my husband’s birthday, which is next week. :-)

And, if you click on the Scrapblog button above you can see a little something I’ve made just for my readers!!

  2. Are we not becoming a generation of lazy people. So many things are being done for us.
Now I am not complaining to a point. I can see the benefits of such a service, it's great.
The only problem is that when more and more services are invented to make out life easier, it actually makes our life more complicated. Why? Because we find other things to fill that which technology has made simpler. Eventually we are doing so much more that we do not have time to do the basics

  3. EricaMueller says:

You are so right about that!! Life was a lot simpler before we had all these luxuries. I still love sending real letters and cards, and doing some real scrapbooking during the winter. I sew, play guitar and do other 'old fashioned' things. To me, creating things with my own hands gives me a sense of accomplishment.
But, there are days when I like to be able to hop online and bang out a couple 'creative' things in a short amount of time. haha

Glad I read the comments first, was about to post a similar comment. Robert's is so true. This is a very nice service however. I think I'd rather use technology and complain about not taking enough time for myself. hehe

I have tried Scrapblog in the past but I wasn't happy with the limitations. But I love digital scrapbooking because if you don't like an element, just hit the delete button and pick something different. You can't do that with traditional scrapbooking. Once you glue it, its stuck there until it falls off. And now that I have found a way to get paid to scrap, I love it even more.

  6. EricaMueller says:

LOL Jimi!! And, as the mother of a 2yr old who gets his hands into EVERYTHING you quickly learn the value of online tools that are mess-free!!!

  7. EricaMueller says:

    Patty,

Could you tell me a little more about the limitations? I've used Shutterfly, Snapfish, Inkubook, SeeHere (fujiFilm) and something from Kodak for picture books. Of all those, Shutterfly was my favorite. However, none of them had a real 'scrapbook' feel to them, even tho they produced beautiful books.
I like that scrapblog's service actually looks like real papers and to me it seems to have more options than the other companies I've tried.
I know you use Heritage Makers. Could you compare the two?
And, how wonderful that you get paid to do something you love!!!!

  8. Patty Reiser says:

The biggest limitations with Scrapblog are the sizes available for printed books and the fact that you can not print up individual pages.
For example, Scrapblog only offers 12×8, 9×6 or 6×4 for their books. With Heritage Makers you have 9 sizes to choose from with the biggest being 13×11 and the smallest 5×5.
And with Heritage Makers you can have individual pages printed. So if you are like me and have been doing traditional 12×12 scrapbook pages, you can switch to digital scrapbooking and incorporated both styles into a scrapbook album. None of the other online businesses you mentioned offers this that I know of.
Heritage Makers also offers Gallery Wraps in 3 sizes that you can create with digital scrapbooking elements. And all Heritage Makers products come with Heirloom Assurance so if a book is lost or destroyed, they will replace it for you for half price.
I have looked at Photo Works, Snapfish, Kodak and Shutterfly but you are limited in creativity and do not offer that “scrapbook” feel you were talking about.
In fact I recently had problems with Snapfish printing up regular photos. They like to cut off peoples heads, etc. Granted they did tell me how to fix it and gave me free credits to replace the prints but I had to go in and re-crop images to their specifications (lost some details) and then had to wait for them to arrive in the mail again. I have had this issue with Kodak as well. But I digress.

  11. EricaMueller says:

Ah, thanks!! It sounds like Heritage Makers is a dream come true for avid scrapbookers!! Me? I am not THAT into it, so I guess the lack of options doesn't bother me too much.
I was wondering about printing single pages tho! Very cool to know Heritage Makers does that!!!
