Epson Artisan 800 – A Review

My dreams have come true! My old printer started complaining and then downright refused to accept thick papers, so I had to go out and buy a new one…

I’ve been using my Artisan 800 for a couple week now, and have gotten to try all kinds of papers, labels, and fun stuff. I’ve printed directly from my camera’s memory card. I’ve scanned documents, made copies, and even got online at Epson and had a blast with their Creative Zone! My sister and I printed off some adorable cards and envelopes. I know I’m going to love this feature!

The Pros:

It’s fast. Very fast! I love printing on this new machine. Even the labels that I print for our clients come out at least 3 times as fast as my old printer could produce them. Needless to say, I’m tickled pink!

WiFi. Need I say more? This baby isn’t even plugged into my computer! I’m looking forward to installing the drivers on hub’s laptop so he can print too!

Quality. This printer is everything I’ve come to expect from Epson. Everything, from photos to greeting cards, comes out high quality!

It does everything. Print, Copy, Scan. It prints directly from your camera’s memory card (which inserts on the front of the printer) to a 4×6, and out shoots this professional quality photo!

LCD screen. I like that I don’t have tons of buttons to get all dusty and nasty. Nope, just one nice smooth screen that cleans easily! The screen is bright and easy to read. You can preview your pictures before you print! You can go through the images stored in the printer and print off a piece of graph paper. I am not quite sure how, but it does this. lol Hubs figured it out and had fun playing with it. :-)

It’s short. The document feeder is on the top, but it folds down into the printer, so I can slid it under a shelf to save space. The paper tray also slides in and closes so everything stays clean and dust-free!

The con:

It’s noisy. But, I like it so much, I’m not complaining!!!!!

It has a wide footprint. But, once again, the pros way outweigh the cons so that if asked, I wouldn’t mention it!

I highly recommend this printer for anyone who needs both quality and function.Yes, it’s pricey, but for those of us with home businesses that depend on high quality prints, it’s very much worth it!
