Mogul by HTC (Sprint) – A Review

My husband just got this beauty and he loves it. Of course, he loves anything to do with technology, but it’s more than that with this phone.

The Mogul is a Touch/PDA Phone. It does everything the fanciest cell phone can do, and also functions as a mini computer. You can open, edit, or create Word and Excel documents. You can chose your web browser. This thing runs Windows!!!

I haven’t gotten to play with it a whole lot, but I think I’d love it too. :-)

Some very cool features:

This phone offers PAM (Phone As Modem.) That means you can plug it into your laptop and use it as an internet connection on Sprint’s high speed internet. No more Air Card!!

Besides for working on Sprint’s high speed internet, the Mogul has it’s own wireless modem for WiFi connection so if you’re at the coffee shop you can use their wireless connection, just as you would with your laptop!

You can type with either the touch screen keypad, or the slide out, full keyboard!

The Mogul is also a media player. No need to bring along your MP3 player!

Windows Messenger is right on the phone. No going to the website and logging in for slow chatting. Do it in real time on the Mogul!

The stylus stores neatly in the phone, unlike my Instinct’s

Things I’m Not Crazy About:

Size. This is definitely a PDA. There’s no slipping it into your back pocket and forgetting it’s there. No, this thing belongs in a holster on your belt. Fortunately, it comes with one!

The keys are small. I’d probably get used to it after a while, but the few times I’ve tried to use the keyboard have completely frustrated me. Huby has large fingers and he manages just fine…

In Conclusion:

Would I like this phone? Yes!

I’d highly recomend it as a gift for any technology loving person!

However, I would not buy it for a child (as with any touch-screen phone, it’s fragile) or someone who struggles with techno gadgets. On a need-to-know-technology scale of 1-5 I’d rate this a 4.
