I’m one of those gals who lives with a camera around her neck, eager to capture every moment of her son’s life, the beauties of nature, and the smiles of loved ones. I’ve owned over a dozen cameras in my 24 years of life, starting with a 24mm! I’m now the proud owner of a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2.
I’m pretty sure I’ll never buy another camera that isn’t a Sony. I’ve owned so many brands, and played with competing models, and I am sold on Sony.
I know my DSC-H2 has been replaced by the DSC-H10 and DSC-H50 but so far I have no reason to upgrade! I’ve had this model for almost 2 years now and I’m completely happy with it. That should say something about Sony; their products are made to last!

For me, the Super SteadyShot® Optical Image Stabilization is completely underrated! I’d never had anything like this on a camera before and I don’t ever want to be without it again! I have shaky hands and the Image Stabilizer has been a lifesaver! Even I can now get gorgeous shots!
Carl Zeiss® 12x Optical zoom. Nuff said!
The High Sensitivity Mode is the best I’ve seen on any digital camera. It really does take good nighttime shots!
I’m in love with the 2″ LCD screen!
The rechargeable batteries that come with this camera, and it’s charger are amazing! I’ve never had batteries with such long life, or fast re-charging times! I’d like to get my hands on another set for backup!
Most of all, I like that this camera is so simple to use. My Mother in-law has Canon’s competing model and I just can’t get a handle on that thing! There are way too many buttons and the menus are confusing. My Sony has all the same features, just easier to find and use.
Dislikes:
It’s heavy. But, that can be expected of a good, high quality camera with a massive zoom lens!
I really can’t think of anything I truly dislike about this camera!
In Conclusion:
Yes, I recommend this camera (or it’s successors) to even the beginner photographer! But, that doesn’t mean the semi-pro should discount it!!
Lily photo taken with my DSC-H2!
