Now, here’s an item I use all day long, every day. Before the family is awake I’m cuddled up on the couch using my Instinct to check my email, fire off my first Twitter tweets of the morning, and read blogs!
I previously owned the Samsung M500 Red. I’d never liked a phone more. The battery life was great, and the operating software was easy to use. So, when it was time to replace the old phone, I looked to Samsung first.
I have not been disappointed.

This phone came with an extra battery and external charger. I have only needed this a few times because the Instinct’s battery life is amazing! However, that extra battery comes in handy on long trips when I’m passing the time by surfing the internet on my phone!
This phone doubles as an MP3 music player! I have no need for an ipod or other MP3 player! Everything I love is in one place.
The 2 Mega Pixel Camera and Camcorder allow me to capture precious moments on the go! If my massive Sony camera isn’t handy I can get a decent shot by pulling this baby out of my pocket!
The Samsung Instinct is email friendly and I love it! I press two keys and I can see all of my email accounts and instantly see if I have any new messages!
I am terrible with driving directions and have absolutely no sense of direction, so the GPS Navigation has come in handy countless times! Not only can I type in the address for my destination, but I can also easily search for the nearest WiFi connection, gas station, or Italian restaurant!
I also enjoy being able to check the weather without browsing for a web page!
Dislikes, or things that could be better:
Locks up. Yea, big frustration there! Phone call coming in, ringing like crazy, but you can’t answer is cause the phone is locked up…
Speed. To me, the Instinct is really slow. There are plenty of times when I have to sit and wait for it to catch up before I can continue typing a text or email.
Size. I know the screen size would change, but I’d like to see this phone a tad smaller. It’s just a bit too big for my pocket, or any cell phone holder on a lady’s purse. Because of this I spend a lot of time hunting for it in the dark recesses of my purse…
Also, the stylus should have been given a storage spot on the phone! Does Samsung honestly think I’m going to be able to find that itty-bitty stylus in the bottom of my purse? It’s a good thing the touch screen is so sensitive and “learns” your moves quickly. I haven’t used the stylus since the day I opened the box.
Other notes:
I’m rough on my gadgets. Really rough. So, the same day I ordered my phone, I got on Ebay and ordered a hard case to protect it. Granted the case makes the phone that much bulkier, but it’s worth it to keep my phone safe! It also makes holding onto the otherwise very smooth and slippery phone much easier!
In conclusion:
Would I buy this phone again? No. For me, the lockin up and sluggish texting is annoying. While I loved the other features of the phone I just wouldn’t buy this one again.
Check out the Samsung Instinct
