The debate over whether U2 can be considered a “Christian” band has gone on for ages. While I know they don’t identify themselves as a Christian band or ministry many of their lyrics are so strongly Christian it’s hard to refute their intent.
Magnificent is one of these songs.
My favorite part of the song…

This morning I saw the music video for this song. At first I was a little confused as to how the town covered in sheets had anything to do with the lyrics, but when the sheets were lifted and the sunlight streamed in, revealing the true beauty of the city and it’s occupants, I knew. Just as the once shrouded city, dim and dull was brought to life by the sun’s rays, so the Light of Christ reveals who were are in Christ. Beautiful. Clean. Full of Life.
